Colleges and universities hold a special place in Beth’s heart. Beth spent most of her career working in higher education is eager to continue contributing to the success of colleges and universities by consulting with leaders, faculty and staff.
Beth began her higher education career in residence life and continued working in more general student affairs roles, then in an academic unit, and finally in human resources. Beth had the great fortune to work at a variety of institutions from a large research intensive institution to a small-private, single-gender institution. Her doctorate focused on educational leadership and policy studies in higher education. She’s had the opportunity to work closely with faculty, staff, students and community members associated with the institutions.
Beth understands the unique nature of higher education institutions, she has first hand knowledge of the organizational dynamics that can either help or hinder the achievement of goals. She is especially aware of the balance between the necessity of change and the respect owed long standing history and traditions.
Specific work done by Beth in higher education includes leading a campus-wide organizational culture change effort, assisting with departmental organizational culture change efforts, establishing employee development planning, coaching, mediating conflicts, strategic planning, and organizational re-design.
As a consultant, Beth’s experience and understanding of higher education is valuable to those clients in colleges and universities as she assists them with maximizing change and continuing to move forward successfully.
